💥BREAKING💥: The Trump administration imposes 10% and 12.5% tariffs on imports from 60 trading partners, including the European Union, commencing on 24 July 2026. The move is related to the failure of each economy to impose and effectively enforce a prohibition on the importation of goods produced with forced labor and coincides with the expiration of a temporary 10% global tariff. Trump has also confirmed a 12.5% tariff on imports from Australia.
The 10% Global Tariff remains in effect until 24 July 2026, with any continuation beyond that date requiring congressional approval. The Reciprocal Tariff, by contrast, was invalidated following the Supreme Court’s decision of 20 February 2026.
On 7 May 2026, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that the 10% global tariff was unlawful as applied to the State of Washington and to two private companies, Burlap & Barrel (a spice importer based in New York City) and Basic Fun! (a toy manufacturer based in Florida).
